PLANNING
We have extensive knowledge in all areas of planning – from rural landscapes to urban sidewalks and everything in between.
We specialize in being good stewards of natural resources and we have over 25 years of experience in working with code compliance on local, State and Federal levels.
CREATIVE LAND USE
While rural lands have a less strict set of compliance requirements, at JMJ, we work hard to ensure that our work on rural projects is based on good stewardship of natural resources and land. We take into account the context of the land and landowner’s needs, and we work hard to create the vision at hand – be it an oak lined allée, irrigation wells or internal road systems.
URBAN DESIGN
We know how to work with local ordinances, codes, and standards in cities, big and small. We have over 25 years of experience working with local, State and Federal agencies in code compliance, construction, and permitting. We have a well-documented history of meeting project timelines, performing quality work and meeting project budgets. We love being part of creating spaces for communities to enjoy.
MUNICIPAL PLANNING
Our team is capable of imagining civic spaces and designing places that are transformative for communities. We instill a cross-functional mindset into our projects. Our process engages teams from concept through final execution with design reviews, stakeholder listening sessions and well-defined feedback loops. We have the proven ability to enhance partnerships with both consultants and contractors to improve and streamline complicated projects.
A PLANNING PROJECT AT A GLANCE
FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH – CAMPUS REDEVELOPMENT
Thomasville, Georgia
First Presbyterian Church had two interesting challenges – combining multiple parcels acquired over time and fulfilling a need for more parking. In response, JMJ planned for the redevelopment of the church campus. Today, the parking lots and open spaces are now attractive outdoor gathering spots. JMJ implemented and coordinated wayfinding signage, lighting, shade from sprawling live oaks, and safe vehicular and pedestrian circulation.
